Website sections

You don't need a redesign. You need this bit fixed.

Point at the section of a page that's letting you down and I'll rebuild it to match your brand, put it on your site, and leave your team able to change it afterwards without having to ask anyone.

The idea

Your website isn't bad. Three parts of it are.

Almost nobody needs everything rebuilt, because the navigation is usually fine and the blog is fine and most of the pages are fine. What's letting you down is the services section that reads like a shopping list, the homepage banner that hasn't changed in three years, and the pricing page that's a wall of text nobody gets to the bottom of.

A redesign fixes all of that along with a good deal that didn't need fixing, for five figures and a quarter of everyone's time, and if yours has just been deferred to next year then that's worth reading before you resign yourself to waiting.

This is the other option. You fix the three that matter, keep the rest as it is, and spend the difference on something that actually brings customers in.

What people ask for

The sections that come up most.

You don't have to pick from this list, it's simply where most jobs end up landing.

Top of page

Homepage banner

The first thing anyone sees, and usually the bit that's been left alone longest. A proper headline, a clear action, and images you can swap yourself when the campaign changes.

Persuasion

Services or products row

Instead of a bulleted list, a row of cards with icons, short descriptions and links through. Add a fourth service later without anyone's help.

Proof

Case studies and testimonials

Real proof laid out so people actually read it. Add a new client win in two minutes rather than putting it on next quarter's list.

Decision

Pricing and comparison tables

Tiers side by side with ticks, crosses and a clear recommendation. Change a price without emailing anyone.

Objections

Questions and answers

An expandable list that answers what people actually ask before they enquire, rather than a page of dense text nobody scrolls.

Action

Contact and booking blocks

The bit at the bottom of the page that asks for the meeting. Usually the most neglected section on any B2B site, and the one closest to revenue.

Prices

Priced on how involved it is, not on how long I take.

If a build runs over because I misjudged it then that's mine to absorb, so the price you agree at the start is the price you end up paying.

Simple

A section with a fixed shape. Most of what a page actually needs.

  • Page banners and headers
  • Call-to-action blocks
  • Quote and testimonial panels
  • Image and text splits
£450 / 3 working days
Most common

Flexible

A section where your team adds, removes and reorders things themselves.

  • Service and case study rows
  • Pricing and comparison tables
  • Question and answer lists
  • Tabs, timelines and logo strips
From £750 / 5 working days

Clever

Sections that do something — search, filter, calculate, or pull in live information.

  • Searchable and filterable listings
  • Interactive calculators
  • Sections fed from a list you maintain
  • Anything connecting to another system
From £1,200 / 8–10 working days

Three or more at once

A set of three sections starts at £1,800, which works out cheaper per section because the styling and the write-up get done once across the whole set rather than three separate times, and the page tends to hang together rather better when they've been designed as a group.

The deal

What's included

  • A private preview so you see it before your customers do
  • Two rounds of changes against what we agreed
  • Checked on phones and tablets, properly
  • A one-page guide for whoever edits it
  • 14 days of fixes after it goes live
  • Full ownership — nothing to keep paying for

What isn't

  • Designing something from scratch. Send a rough idea, a competitor's page or a sketch — if you want a designer's concept first, that's a project.
  • Writing the words that go in it, though I'll tell you if they're the real problem.
  • Changes to your whole site's look. If a section needs your site-wide styling altering, I'll flag it before quoting.
  • Ongoing support. It's yours; there's no retainer attached.
Questions

The ones I get asked most.

How is this possible if our template doesn't do it?

If you already know the technical answer and are looking for a custom HubSpot module built to a design, that has a page of its own with prices on it. Otherwise: your template came with a set number of section types built into it, and almost everybody assumes that's the ceiling, which is fair enough because nobody ever tells you otherwise. It isn't though, because new section types can be built and added alongside the ones you already have, and once they're in they turn up in your editor behaving exactly like the rest. Your existing pages and templates and content all stay precisely as they are.

Will it look like it belongs on our site?

That's rather the point of doing it this way, because it picks up your existing colours and fonts and spacing rather than arriving with its own, so it reads as part of the site instead of something bolted onto the end of it. If your brand guidelines say something different from what's currently live then send those over and I'll build to them instead.

Can our team really edit it, or is that a stretch?

Genuinely, yes. Whoever edits your pages at the moment will see clearly labelled boxes for the headline and the text and the images and each item in a row, with a short note against anything that isn't obvious, so if somebody in your team can update a blog post then they can update this.

I'll also walk through it with whoever's going to be using it, so that nobody's guessing on the first day.

Do you need access to our HubSpot?

Usually yes, as a temporary login, so that I can build against your real site and check how it behaves in place rather than guessing. If your IT policy doesn't allow that then I can build it separately and hand over a file for somebody at your end to add, which takes a little longer but works perfectly well.

What if we're not sure which section to fix?

Send me the page and I'll tell you what I'd pick, and it's often not the section people expect, because a lot of homepages are perfectly decent and it's the enquiry block at the bottom quietly doing the damage. That conversation costs nothing and there's nothing attached to it.

How does paying work?

Half when you approve the quote and half when it goes live, both payable within fourteen days, and prices exclude VAT. For a single simple section I'll usually just invoice the whole thing once at the end rather than bother you twice.

What if it takes longer than you said?

The price doesn't change, because a fixed quote is only worth having if it stays fixed when things get inconvenient. The one exception is if you ask for something extra part-way through, and in that case I'll price it separately and get you to agree it before I start.

Send me the page.

A link is enough to go on. I'll tell you what could be done to it and what that would cost and how long it would take, or that it's fine as it is and you should leave it alone.
