Whether one exists
If you've got something finished then I'm building to it, and if you haven't then I'm making the design decisions and defending them, which takes longer and costs a little more.
Hardly anybody in this industry publishes prices, which is a real problem when you're the one who has to put a number into a budget request before you've even had a conversation. So here's everything.
The usual reasons for hiding prices are that the work varies too much to put a number on, or that competitors will see them. On the competitors, they already know, because somebody in your market has requested a quote through a shell company or hired one of your people or simply asked a mutual client over lunch, and pricing secrecy in this industry mostly keeps information away from buyers rather than rivals.
On the variability, it's true that a section for a clean documented site is a different job from the same section on something nobody has touched in four years, and the honest way round that is a from-price and a plain explanation of what moves it, which is what's below.
Which means if a job takes me longer than I judged then that's mine to absorb rather than something that turns up on your invoice. The only thing that ever changes the number is a change to what we agreed, and that gets written down and approved before any of the work happens.
Tick whichever ones you recognise from your own site and the number appears as you go. There's nothing to fill in and no email needed to see it.
Tick everything that applies

Tick a section and the price appears here.
I'll turn this into a proper written scope with a fixed price and a delivery date, usually within two working days, and there's nothing attached to asking.
Indicative prices. The real number comes from a free thirty-minute call, and it's fixed once we've agreed the scope.
These are starting points for a fairly typical job rather than a menu you order from, and yours would get quoted properly after a look at the actual site. All of them exclude VAT.
If your budget is below the bottom of this list then say so on the first call, because there's usually a smaller version worth doing and I'd rather scope that than have you find out after twenty minutes that we were never going to get there.
None of these is a surcharge invented on the spot. They're the reasons two jobs that look identical from the outside can be a fortnight apart, and I'd rather you knew them before the call than discovered them on a quote.
If you've got something finished then I'm building to it, and if you haven't then I'm making the design decisions and defending them, which takes longer and costs a little more.
A clean documented site is predictable, whereas something heavily modified by somebody unreachable means a certain amount of archaeology before any building starts.
One decision-maker means quick rounds, and four means consolidating conflicting feedback, which is the thing that quietly turns a fixed-price job into an expensive one if nobody prices it honestly at the start.
Final words and images in hand means no waiting, and content that nobody has been assigned to write is much the most common reason a job stalls halfway through.
If a section needs your site-wide styling changing then that risks affecting pages outside what we agreed, so I'll flag it before quoting rather than after.
Normal lead time costs what's on the list, and compressing it into evenings and a weekend carries a premium, because the alternative is quietly doing it worse.
Send me a page and I'll rebuild one section of it as a mockup first, so you can see the work before there's any money involved at all.
